Career Week @ LH School Age Enrichment Program

balloon funCareer Week at Lock Haven's School Age Enrichment Program was held March 3-7. Spending all week learning about different occupations, the week culminated in a fun-filled day on Friday where the children visited a few local businesses in towns, as well as had some visitors themselves!

The day started with a trip to Calico CreeK Feed and Pet Store, where the children were treated to a tour of the facilities. They learned about breeding animals, as well as got a backstage pass to the groomers section of the store!

Next, they travelled to Citizen's Hose Co. No. 5 in Lock Haven to check out a fire hall, fire trucks and the equipment required to be a fireman. Each kid got to try on some firemen gear!

Back at the facility, guest speakers came in during the afternoon. Wendy the Clown, a retired school teacher, was a particular hit, where the kids learned how to tie animal balloons. Next, meteorologist John Dlugoenski came in to talk to everyone about his job. Boy did the kids have a TON of really GREAT questions for him! Last but certainly not least, police officer Kemmer stopped by to speak about her duty to the city of Lock Haven.
